Point of Care Testing (POCT) Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician (MT/MLT) - Permanent, Direct Hire

Working Schedule

Position Type: Regular Full-Time

  • Availability required from Sunday through Saturday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, including holidays
  • Flexibility needed for schedule adjustments based on operational needs

Compensation Package

  • Hourly Rate: $34.00 to $42.65
  • Actual pay based on relevant experience
  • Potential eligibility for Relocation Assistance
  • Potential eligibility for Sign-On Bonus

Job Summary

As a key member of the team, this role involves providing technical expertise and oversight to ensure the precision and efficiency of Point of Care Testing (POCT) practices across various units. Responsibilities include delivering training, conducting competency assessments, and offering guidance on laboratory testing protocols, procedures, and regulatory standards to support nurses and non-licensed staff. Furthermore, this position serves as a technical consultant, collaborates with clinical and IT departments, and adheres to safety and confidentiality protocols to uphold the delivery of top-notch patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology or Associate degree in medical laboratory technology/technician from an accredited institution.

Experience:

Required:

  • MT: Two (2) years Medical Technologist experience.
  • MLT: Four (4) years Medical Laboratory Technician experience.

Certification:

Required: 

  • MT: Certified as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) recognized the Hawaii Department of Health Laboratories Division.
  • MLT: Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician by an agency recognized the Hawaii Department of Health Laboratories Division.

Licensure:

Required:

  • MT: Hawaii State license as a Medical Technologist.
  • MLT: Hawaii State license as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
