THE OPPORTUNITY

The primary purpose of the Glass Room Operator is to assist the Production Department as needed to ensure successful completion of the production process.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This position is responsible for the successful completion of production processes, including:

  • Perform uploading and binding of fiber glass spools
  • Adhere to resin agitation schedule to ensure resin is mixed and a sample is sent to QC for testing as required for incoming or uploads
  • Ensure proper inventory levels of fiber glass spools and resin
  • Ensure proper storage of materials which are used
  • Adhere to all related paperwork for agitation, upload of resin, and upload of glass for efficient process flow
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Report on all equipment related issues to the Production Supervisor
  • Ensure proper inventory of materials to perform the job
  • Assist the Engineering Department in the research, trial/development, selection of new processes and equipment to improve the production process
  • Assist in training and cross training production team members
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Comply with all Company Safety rules, Provincial and Federal Rules and Regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-year minimum experience working within a manufacturing warehouse/plant
  • Lift Truck certificate a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Industrial production environment
  • Hot & humid areas within the plant
  • Physically demanding tasks
  • Interaction with heavy machinery, moving equipment and limited movement of chemicals within the production area
