Job description

Shifts Available:

o   Days: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

o   Evenings: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

o   Nights: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM


Department: Security
Compensation:

        Base Pay Range: $19.15 - $30.23 per hour, based on experience

        Shift Differentials:

o   Evenings: $1.50/HR

o   Nights: $2.50/HR

o   Weekends: $1.50/HR

        Choose Between Sign-On Bonus -OR- Retention Rewards

o   Retention Rewards: Up to $15,000

  Relocation Support: Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away

  Retention Reward (Option 1): $2,000 per year for up to 5 years, totaling $10,000

  Student Loan Repayment (Option 2): $2,000 per year toward student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

To enforce the security policies and procedures of the University of Missouri Health Care and enforce traffic and parking regulations at the facility, its parking garage, lots, and ground while on duty. Patrol designated areas as assigned by shift supervisor; write parking tickets for illegally parked vehicles; Investigate complaints, disturbances and thefts completing a concise and factual report in accordance with policies and procedures.

Operate two-way communication system to send and receive messages following appropriate radio protocol. Record all activities occurring on the assigned shift. Assist law enforcement personnel to various hospital areas in order to monitor compliance to hospital policy; provide outside law enforcement personnel with information and assistance with investigations occurring in the hospital by following established protocol. Assist in restraining individuals who are disruptive or in violation of the law in the University of Missouri Health Care facilities, parking garage, lots or grounds while on duty.

Assist local Fire Department with calls to University of Missouri Health Care facilities; respond to alarms of types to University of Missouri Health Care facilities. Assist in the training of new officers as assigned; may direct and review work of Security staff and review officer incident reports to ensure completeness in the absence of the shift supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous security experience. Ability to lift/move/carry objects or persons. Ability to restrain patients/visitors. May require ability to go through narrow spaces and climb ladders. Should be willing/able to become a notary public.

Successful completion of initial training within sixty days of hire date. Complete other training as assigned by Security Manager.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 lbs and occasionally move objects up to 25 lbs.This role may also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
