Job description

Aircraft Mission Planner

The Opportunity:

As a defense mission professional, you ask questions others don't. You understand the nuances of complex situations. You use your skills to think bigger and push further, solving complex problems. We're looking for an expert like you to create solutions for missions that keep our nation safe.

As an Aircraft Mission Planner, you'll bring your strategic expertise to work on projects for the Department of Defense (DoD). You'll be a trusted advisor to our clients, and we'll look to you to identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, and processes, and adhere to published guidance, directives, and instructions relating to the planning and execution of operational, training, testing, and exercise sorties. You will work on target development, weather, airspace, and diplomatic clearances, intelligence and threat mitigation, communication systems, maintenance status and aircraft files, and operational and aircrew products, including post-mission debrief products.

You'll guide the work we do for the DoD and the solutions we deliver for aircraft performance, navigation, and routing, sensor, and mission systems.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with DoD, private, corporate, commercial, or law enforcement aircrew, commercial flight planning, or DoD flight or mission planning
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint or Excel
  • Ability to travel to forward operating locations up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience as a USAF RQ-4 or USN MQ-4 Mission Planner
  • Experience as a rated instructor or evaluator
  • Experience as a qualified Pilot, Navigator, Combat Systems Officer, Air Battle Manager, or Mission Planner
  • Experience with flight planning software, including the Air Force Mission Support System, Omniview, Joint Mission Planning System, Portable Flight Planning Software, Aviation Mission Planning System, XPlan, Mission Planning Environment, or Naval Mission Planning System
  • Experience with Open Mission Systems or Universal Command and Control Interface
  • Experience with DoD Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance operations
  • Experience with the Air Operations Center or Distributed Common Ground System
  • Experience with web-based flight planning, including ForeFlight or SkyVector
  • Graduate of a USAF Weapons School
  • Completion of 500+ total flight hours rated aviation

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
