AHMG Psychiatry at Shawnee Mission - Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
AdventHealth Kansas City
AdventHealth in Kansas City is looking for a full-time PMHNP to join our Psychiatry and Wellbeing Outpatient Clinic. This PMHNP will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients across the full spectrum of mental health conditions in the outpatient setting. Our psychiatrists provide mental health, substance abuse and dual diagnosis treatment for voluntary adult and senior patients. We also offer a robust ECT program for inpatients and outpatients; a highly reputable Intensive Outpatient Program with tracks for mental health, substance abuse and dual diagnosis; and a Behavioral Health Assessment Center.

PMHNP is responsible for:
  • Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Providing psychotherapy and medication management as appropriate.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, social workers, and primary care physicians.
  • Engaging in patient education and offering support to help individuals manage their mental health effectively.
  • Staying abreast of the latest research and best practices in psychiatric care.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong medical decision-making skills.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Master Degree - Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • 2+ years prescribing experience

Licensure, Certification, Registration:
  • Current, valid Kansas Medical license
  • Board Certification
  • BLS & ACLS
