Reporting to the VP, Mortgage Operations, this role is responsible for evaluating and making sound credit recommendations for borrowers seeking business purpose financing. The position involves thorough loan reviews and underwriting in alignment with company & investor guidelines, playing a critical role in safeguarding the quality of the companyโ€™s asset portfolio and minimizing financial risk. The role is responsible for performing comprehensive analysis of borrower/ entity creditworthiness, financial standing, investment history and collateral attributes.

This role ensures that all credit decisions and property financing approvals adhere to Genstone Financial, d/b/a Fay Servicing, underwriting standards and investor purchase criteria. Additionally, the position is accountable for meeting all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) established by the company.

Qualifications Include:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred
  • 5+ yearsโ€™ mortgage loan underwriting experience, including at least 3 years underwriting DSCR, investor, bridge, fix-and-flip or other business purpose lending (BPL) products
  • Proven ability to review, analyze and calculate necessary ratios, LLPA thresholds and asset requirements
  • Prior experience collaborating and working effectively with sales/ account executives
  • Strong understanding of mortgage underwriting principles, risk assessment and loan documentation
  • Experience analyzing borrower credit, income, assets, collateral and property cash flow
  • Knowledge of federal, state and investor guidelines applicable to business purpose lending
  • Experience with LOS systems highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage through conflict
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Solid decision-making abilities coupled with sound judgment
  • Strong time management skills; ability to prioritize numerous tasks and manage shifting priorities
  • Self-motivated; ability to work well independently

Compensationย 

  • The hourly range for this position is between $44.72 to $50.49 hourly
