Position Overview:

KODA is seeking a Missile Defense System Architecture Assessment Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will support the continued development and enhancement of the Capability Gap Tracker and assist in the provisioning of missile threat data for ongoing analysis efforts within the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Chief Architect's Office. This position bridges systems engineering and data-driven analysis, contributing to critical missile defense initiatives that inform system architecture assessments and strategic decision-making across the Missile Defense System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to the Architecture Validation Team within MDA's Chief Architect's Office.
  • Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the QlikSense-based Capability Gap Tracker (CGT) tool, including reviewing, updating, and organizing gap data.
  • Develop dashboards and data visualizations within the Capability Gap Tracker to support reporting, analysis, and architecture decision-making.
  • Assess and analyze Missile Defense capability gaps and associated data.
  • Collaborate with MDA stakeholders to define, refine, and validate capability gaps and supporting datasets within the Capability Gap Tracker.
  • Develop capability gap mitigation strategies by analyzing technical documentation and coordinating with MDA stakeholders.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams and Capability Gap Tracker users to identify reporting needs and deliver data-driven solutions that improve decision support capabilities.
  • Support adoption and effective use of the Capability Gap Tracker by MDA organizations by providing guidance, interpreting outputs, and enabling data-driven assessments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field
  • 3+ years of experience supporting missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD programs/projects
  • Experience working with and analyzing large data sets
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with excellent collaboration and communication abilities
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Missile Defense Systems (MDS) components, architectures, concepts, and threats, with demonstrated understanding through analysis activities
  • Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools such as QlikSense, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
  • Working knowledge of Systems Engineering processes including Model-Based Systems Engineering and Digital Engineering strategies
  • Experience with Digital Engineering tools and platforms such as Cameo, Palantir, or similar technologies

Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance is required; Ability to obtain a Top Secret is preferred. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
