Position: Concrete Finisher
Company: Woodstone Earth Construction
Schedule: Be willing to work 40 -55 hours during the summer, Monday-Friday; long-term opportunity
Position Summary:
Concrete Finishers at Woodstone Earth Construction will assist in a variety of concrete-related tasks on commercial sitework projects. This role involves prepping, forming, pouring, and finishing concrete for various applications. 
Pay Structure:
Tier 1: Entry-Level Concrete Finisher (0-2 years of experience)
Pay Rate: $23-$28/hr
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of concrete forms and pouring areas
  • Assist with, set and pour concrete for curbs, sidewalks, flatwork, and other infrastructure   elements
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain clean and organized workspaces
  • Work closely with the team and communicate effectively with supervisors
  • Willing to assist with other general labor tasks when needed

Qualifications:
  • Willingness to listen and follow direction
  • 0-2 years of concrete experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic knowledge of concrete tools and equipment. (Dependent on level)

Tier 2: Novice/Amateur Concrete Finisher (2-5 years of experience)
Pay Rate: $28-$34/hr
Key Responsibilities:
  • Clear understanding of task required for the preparation, forming, pouring, with basic to amateur knowledge of finishing concrete
  • Willingness to mentor and guide less experienced concrete finishers
  • Understanding of finishing tools and equipment and the maintenance of those items
  • The understanding of the direct effects of weather temp, wind, direct sun, as it pertains to how and when, to finishing concrete
  • Maintain equipment and assist in troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines and ensure the quality of finished concrete surfaces

Qualifications:
  • 2 -5 years of concrete prep/four finishing experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Leadership skills and ability to mentor others
  • A high desire to produce a quality product constantly  
  • Consistently being reliable, on time, prepared and ready to work with a good attitude

Tier 3:  Advanced Concrete Finisher (10 plus years of experience)
Pay Rate: $35 to $ 45
Key Responsibilities:
  • Very proficient with laws and regulations regarding ADA, requirements.
  • Advanced experience with prep, form, and pour of various concrete applications. Such as concrete pads, docks, walks, curbs.
  • Advanced experience with concrete stamping, colored, exposed, surfaces
  • Extended experience with finishing, control joints, expansion joints, broomed, picture frame dowel placement. And why.
  • Knowledge with slip form of 6’ 8’ 12’ 24’ curb, mountable curb, gutter preparation and install manual, tie in, forming, pouring, stripping of connections
  • Advanced understanding of the direct effect weather plays on the setting and finishing of outside concrete
  • A high desire to produce a quality product constantly applying positive leadership skills to motivate the team. Both verbal and in action 
  • Understanding a manager’s position of production, deadlines, owner, and client demands

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of concrete finishing experience
  • Strong knowledge of concrete mixtures, equipment, and finishing techniques
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor others
  • Physically be able to do this work daily under various weather conditions to effectively meet deadlines and ensure the quality of finished concrete surfaces consistently
  • Consistently being reliable, on time, prepared and ready to work with a good attitude
