About the role

We are looking for a Mobile Equipment Mechanical Maintainer to join our Mobile Maintenance team at Kennecott Copper, supporting the safe and reliable operation of our large mobile mining fleet.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced and safetyfocused tradesperson to apply their skills in a dynamic operational environment, working a rotating 5 on / 5 off / 4 on roster (12hour days and nights).

Reporting to the Supervisor - Mobile Maintenance and working in a collaborative and safetydriven team within Asset Management, you will be:

  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on large-scale mobile mining equipment

  • Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults and implementing safe, effective solutions

  • Maintaining haul trucks, water trucks, and auxiliary equipment including dozers, graders, and excavators

  • Using tools, equipment, and diagnostic systems safely and efficiently

  • Following all safety, environmental, and company procedures and standards

  • Contributing to continuous improvement through proactive identification of equipment and process improvements

About you

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with heavyduty diesel mechanical systems, including hydraulics and electrical fundamentals

  • Willingness and ability to work rotating 12hour day and night shifts

  • Confidence in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and standard work procedures

  • Familiarity with diagnostic software for Cummins, Komatsu, and Caterpillar systems (highly desirable)

  • A collaborative mindset with respect for others in a teamoriented and inclusive environment

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum, tellurium, and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
