Position Description
E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee safety compliance for asphalt manufacturing plants and related facilities. This role is responsible for driving OSHA General Industry (29 CFR 1910) compliance, implementing effective safety programs, conducting inspections and audits, and partnering with plant leadership to reduce risk and improve safety performance.
Key Responsibilities - Safety Leadership & Program Management
  • Serve as the primary safety resource for asphalt plants, terminals, and fixed facilities
  • Lead safety initiatives that reduce incidents, improve compliance, and strengthen safety culture
  • Conduct and document routine facility safety inspections
  • Evaluate machine guarding, conveyors, rotating equipment, and material handling systems
  • Track deficiencies, assign corrective actions, and verify timely closure
  • Lead or support incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Deliver and coordinate safety training for plant personnel and maintenance teams

Position Requirements
Qualifications Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in safety or 3+ years of safety experience in asphalt manufacturing, or other similar industrial manufacturing environments
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 regulations
  • Experience supporting asphalt plants, batch plants, mining, or similar operations
  • Ability to travel between multiple facilities
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels
