Job description

Overview
Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is looking for Senior Mining Engineer in our Phoenix, AZ office. Would love to speak with individuals who are interested in being part of our growing community - outstanding professionals who combine strong consulting and business development skills with a strong technical foundation - to foster and expand a network of client relationships in the Mining industry. You will have the opportunity to help grow the mining practice in the southwestern United States with emphasis in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, California and Colorado. You will manage projects and project teams to navigate today's complex mining regulatory landscape, help our aggregate and hardrock mining clients to secure permits and complete projects in a timely manner. Your work will influence the entire project - from assessment and investigation, to conceptual design plans, through completion of permitting, bidding, and construction.
You will also serve as a mentor to junior staff, educating them about field data collection, engineering and environmental design parameters, as well as the regulatory criteria as they relate to the aggregate and hardrock mining clients and projects. This is an outstanding opportunity for the professional looking to advance their career and build their service offering and team.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil, Environmental of Mining Engineering
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in managing infrastructure design, civil engineering, permitting and/or environmental compliance activities for mining companies in the southwestern US
  • Working knowledge of state and federal environmental laws and regulations as they relate to aggregate and hardrock mining
  • Experience working with regulatory agency personnel in the southwestern US
  • Ability to prepare manage and review permit applications and engineering plan submittals
  • Demonstrated success in the development and execution of mining/quarry business development strategies including creation of market/client intelligence, win themes, visitation schedules, client relationship management, and revenue generation.
