What does a mining mechanic do?

A mining mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing the heavy machinery and equipment used in mining operations. This includes diagnosing mechanical problems, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring that all equipment runs safely and efficiently.
