ABOUT PRECISION DIAGNOSTICS:ย 

Precision Diagnostics, based in San Diego, California is afast-growingclinical laboratory that specializes in providing drug testing, primarily for the purpose of helping physiciansย monitorย theirย patientsย undergoing treatment for pain or substance abuse. Precisionโ€™sย objectiveย is to improve patient adherence/compliance with their prescription regimen and protect medical practices from liability.ย 

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)ย Iย you play a vital role in working behind the scenes to process laboratory tests that directly impact patient care. A CLSย Iย performs only those high complexity tests that are authorized by the Laboratory Director and require a degree of skill commensurate with the individualโ€™s education, training or experience, and technical abilities.The individual must pass a training and examination regimen that demonstrates their ability to perform specific tasks.ย 

THE ROLE:ย 

  • Follow the laboratoryโ€™s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test resultsย 

  • Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimensย 

  • Adhere to the laboratoryโ€™s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performedย 

  • Follow the laboratoryโ€™s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratoryโ€™s established acceptable levels of performanceย 

  • Be capable of identifyingproblems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor or Laboratory Directorย 

  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systemsdeviatefrom the laboratoryโ€™s established performance specificationsย 

  • Identifies business trends and problems through complex big data analysisย 

  • Interprets results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently.ย 

  • Maintaining timely turnaround, completing the dayโ€™s sample quota within the allotted time of the daily shiftย 

  • Following the laboratoryโ€™s policies, including taking and documenting corrective actions whenever test systems are not within the laboratoryโ€™s established acceptable levels of performanceย 

  • Identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or test result reporting and correcting the problem or notifying the appropriate personnelย 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:ย 

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondenceย 

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculationsย ย 

  • Ability to perform and analyze basic statistical functions (e.g., Mean, Standard Deviation, or CV, etc.)ย 

  • Intermediate knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applicationsย 

  • At a minimum,have achieved a satisfactory grade in a proficiency examination offered either by the Public Health Service, Department of Health and Human Services, or approved by the Departmentย 

  • Six years of pertinent full-time experience in an approved clinical laboratory coveringall laboratory areas to be supervisedย 

  • Preferred -Bachelorโ€™s degree in the physical, chemical, or biological science, and have at a minimum, four years of pertinent full-time experienceaftergraduation covering the specialty to be supervisedย 

  • Preferred -Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science and have three years of pertinent full-time laboratory experienceaftergraduation covering all laboratory areas to be supervisedย 

  • To be successful, you agree that technology is a key part of every business process and you will make new technology adoption part of your routineย 

  • Become fluent in Microsoft 365 (formerly Office635) applications assigned to your role. Common applications include: Teams, Word, Excel, Tasks and Plannerย 

  • Complete training in a timely manner that is assigned to you. Training is primarily conducted via Microsoft Learn modules and is assigned based on:ย 

  • Position/Job Role โ€“ Most positions require a core set of Microsoft 365 working knowledgeย 

  • Project Role โ€“ As member of a project team, you may be required to complete training before you can engage with the project team or commence project workย 

  • Ad-Hoc โ€“ Based on review of your performance via support requests, training modules will be assigned to increase skillsย 

ADDITIONAL JOB CONSIDERATIONS:ย 

  • This position is Full-Timeย 

  • Annual Salary Range: $85,000-$105,000ย 

  • This position is currently remote with some work on-site, no relocation assistance packageย 

  • Schedule: 10 hour shifts: Saturday and Sunday starting at 10am. Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 6am; hours may vary as needed

  • Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods while working on a computerย
