Location: Western Nunavut (FIFO from Edmonton)
Employment Type: Contract/Temporary with Temp-to-Permanent Opportunity

Project Duration: 2-year construction phase + 10-20 years operational

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Millwrights for a major mining construction project in western Nunavut. This is an exceptional long-term opportunity offering both temporary assignments and potential permanent placement with our client. Join one of Canada's leading gold mining operations in a project that spans decades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment in mining operations
  • Perform mechanical installations including conveyors, crushers, mills, and processing equipment
  • Align and balance rotating equipment using precision measuring instruments
  • Troubleshoot mechanical systems and perform preventive maintenance
  • Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Collaborate with other trades on construction and maintenance projects
  • Ensure all work meets safety standards and mining regulations
Required Qualifications
  • Journeyman Millwright certification (Red Seal preferred)
  • Alberta-based candidates strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years industrial millwright experience
  • Mining or heavy industrial experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract
  • Ability to work in remote camp environments
  • Physical fitness for demanding work conditions
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
