Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking candidates to join our US Mining Team as a senior advisory consultant. The candidate will be responsible for developing clients for economic, financial, advisory, and business consulting projects related to the mining industry, including mineral valuations, market assessments, due diligence, risk analysis, business improvement, and economic models for technical reports. The successful candidate will be required to develop projects and clients, lead and review work, and mentor younger staff.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to an innovative and collaborative work environment where creativity is valued and encouraged.
  • Contribute to proposals, contracts, project management, and client relations/management.
  • Lead techno-economic analysis, due diligence, and advisory projects.
  • Assist in developing and expanding our services with new and existing clients.
  • Manage tasks and help develop younger staff.
  • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Diverse background in mining projects.
  • Experience designing and analyzing projects using various economic and financial methodologies.
  • Experience developing new clients and relationships.
  • Experience with outputs of a mine plan and analyzing the resulting financial implications of different parameters.
  • Strong technical and business writing skills, organizational skills, technical leadership abilities, oral communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently.
  • Demonstrated successful experience to initiate and maintain relationships with local staff and key staff from other locations within Stantec, as well as with existing and prospective clients.
  • You have a willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Education and Experience
  • 20+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mining engineering and/or mineral economics, or a related field.
  • You have strong technical skills in conducting mineral market studies, economic and financial evaluation of mining projects, mineral valuations, mining development strategies, risk analysis, and mining advisory.
  • You have experience representing a company at conferences.
  • You have experience developing proposals and managing projects.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
