Overview:
The Mine Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the Mine site, including its employees, equipment, and facilities. This role involves monitoring access points, patrolling the site, responding to security incidents, and enforcing protocols.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control entry and exit points of the site
  • Verify credentials of all personnel, vehicles, and equipment entering the site.
  • Issues and manage visitor pass and temporary badges.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the mine premises, including perimeters, buildings, and sensitive areas.
  • Check for any signs of security breaches, hazards, or suspicious activities
  • Report and document any incidents or irregularities.
  • Maintain accurate records of security incidents, visitor logs, and patrol activities
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on security incidents or breaches
  • Communicate effectively with the security team and management.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of security and safety regulations, particularly in mining or industrial setting
  • Strong observation skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Security guard license certification
  • First Aid/CPR certifications is an asset
Work Environment:
  • Lifting and carrying large (50+ lbs) tools and equipment independently
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Working in various weather conditions for long periods of time.
  • Must work in compliance with the Florence Copper's site Health and Safety program.
