JOB TITLE: Mine Mobile Mechanic Technician

DEPARTMENT: Mine Maintenance

LOCATION: Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV

POSITION REPORTS TO: Rotating Maintenance Supervisor

ROTATING SHIFT: Yes 5/4 - 4/5 Schedule: 2 Weeks Days/2 Weeks Nights

Robinson Nevada Mining Company operates the Robinson Copper Mine near Ruth Nevada just outside Ely, Nevada. Ely (Central) Nevada is a great place for outdoor enthusiasts and RNMC is a great place to work. Zero Harm for our employees, Community and Environment are our highest priority.

PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION:

Troubleshoot and repair large mining equipment and work both in and out of the shop on equipment repairs. Operate and maintain a service truck, cut, and weld when needed. Must be willing to perform other duties as directed and work within Company and State environmental and safety policies. This position may require the chosen candidate to work within the lube shop, tire shop, diesel mechanic shop, and outside in field at any given time; based on business needs and the level of the individual's stage of progression. This job may require working holidays and working overtime.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and repair large mining equipment and work both in and out of the shop on equipment repairs.
  • Operate and maintain a service truck and supporting equipment.
  • Cut and weld when needed.
  • Read and understand schematics, service manuals, and parts books.
  • Detailed communication, both written and verbal.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

  • Experience on heavy equipment repair.
  • Valid Driver's License.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

  • Five (5) years' experience on heavy equipment repair.
  • Strong background in Caterpillar and Komatsu equipment repairs.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to read and understand schematics, service manuals, and parts books.
  • Able to operate all shop tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.

  • N/A

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • N/A

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Very Heavy: Exerting greater than 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or greater than 50 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than 20 pounds of force constantly. Physical demand requirements are greater than that required for Heavy Work.
