Our MissionAmerican Fork City's mission is to provide excellence in service to residents, visitors, and business community to foster a high quality of life.Coaching AssignmentThe Assistant Swimming Coach supports a safe, structured training environment that helps athletes build skill, confidence, and long-term growth. This part-time, onsite role partners with the coaching staff to deliver consistent, high-quality sessions aligned to seasonal objectives.Key responsibilities include:- Coach assigned groups and provide deck supervision during practices- Support seasonal planning and execution of daily/weekly training progressions- Step in to coach other age groups as needed to ensure continuity- Maintain clear, timely practice documentation and athlete recordsRequired qualifications/skills:- 1–3 years coaching experience (year-round or summer recreation leagues)- Strong communication and athlete-development mindset- USA Swimming background check- American Red Cross Coaches Safety, CPR/AED, and First Aid Certifications- APT training; Concussion protocol training; USADA Coach’s Tutorial- ASCA Levels 1–2; USA Swimming Rules and RegulationsPay: $16.50–$18.00 per hour. Schedule: Mon–Fri 2:45–6:00 pm; Sat 7:45–10:00 am. Apply to help swimmers progress in a supportive, accountable setting.On Deck RhythmYou arrive early enough to prepare the deck and ensure lanes, equipment, and timing systems are ready before athletes step on deck. Practices center primarily on the Senior Gold Group, with a steady cadence: warm-up, focused sets, and purposeful feedback that keeps swimmers engaged and progressing. Between sets, you coordinate with the Head Coach and/or Head Age Group Coach to stay aligned on seasonal direction and any needed adjustments. When coverage is needed, you shift smoothly to support other training groups while keeping expectations clear and consistent. After the final whistle, you wrap up equipment, confirm notes from the session, and update records so the broader coaching team has accurate, actionable information for upcoming workouts.
