Job description

Travis Pattern and Foundry is the largest privately owned provider of aluminum castings west of the Mississippi. 4th Generation owned and operated, and 100 years old in 2022!!! Travis Pattern and Foundry understands the value of stability and sustainability.  

Travis Pattern and Foundry has immediate openings for experienced Maintenance Millwrights. The essential duties of this position will be to perform routine maintenance, inspections, repairs, and rebuilds of plant operating equipment. Welding skills are desirable but not required. This is a full-time position.

We are hiring for two shifts: SWING and GRAVE shift, weekend On-call shift.

Swing Shift: M – F 4:00 pm to 12:30 am

Grave Shift: Sun – 9:00 pm to 7:30 am Mon. Monday evening through Friday Morning: 11:00 pm to 7:00 am 

We are only hiring for full-time work - 40/hr week or more, overtime is available.

 

Hourly wage range: $20.25 – 37.13/hr* - plus applicable shift premium

 

*Wages are DOE, subject to a variety of factors including but not limited to: prior relevant experience, skilled experience and/or certifications in specific areas of skilled manufacturing. 

 

Millwright I        $37.13/hr+ DOE

Millwright II       $29.72 – 37.12/hr

Millwright III      Up to $29.71/hr

*Millwright scale is defined by Company.

We are a Union Shop. We are part of the USW Local #289 M (United Steel Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International) Union.

You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for this position and be able to perform the following essential tasks continuously, for an 8-hour shift.

 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary
  • Preventative maintenance and routine checks on production equipment to include pneumatic, production machines, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, mixers, agitator, cranes, and other rolling stock
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts, and complete tasks
  • Safe and effective use of hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools; any candidate must have demonstrated experience with appropriate safety and PPE requirements for each job
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma / equivalent
  • Two years’ experience in an industrial/production environment
  • Hydraulics and mechanical with belt conveyor and gearbox experience
  • Welding with fitting and layout
  • Basic electrical knowledge and experience (120-480V, 3-phase)
  • Knowledge of power tools
  • Must have attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and positive team attitude
  • Familiarity with WISHA regulation
  • Ability to read/write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment as necessary
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanics
  • Work in both hot and cold work environments
  • Work may consist of overtime and weekend work during busy production times

 

Physical Requirements:

  • In the course of regular job duties, you may be required to squat, bend, stoop, kneel, stand, climb and crawl
  • Lifting may be required with assistance provided if needed
  • Hand dexterity is required in this positoin and the ability to use hand tools is essential

 

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise
  • Exposure to climate condition of the geographic area
  • Exposure to chemicals, oils, grease, paints, or other irritants
