Job Summary

IMI is seeking a full-time Millwright Foremanlocal to the Watkinsville, GA area.

Essential Functions
  • Successfully complete Industrial Mechanical, Inc.โ€™s Foreman training.
  • Provide leadership that result in a safe, positive, and respectful work culture.
  • Function as the on-site Quality Lead as required to support the IMI Quality Management System.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in dismantling, moving, assembling, and installing industrial machinery to ensure work is performed safely, correctly, and timely.
  • Ability to serve as a liaison between customers, vendors, project managers, and other employees regarding current and future projects.
  • Effective communication skills, especially with respect to directing others.
  • Inspects quality of all work to ensure company standards and project specifications are met.
  • Assists workers in their performance of assigned duties.
  • Analyze and resolve work related problems.
  • Reviews materials received at jobsite to ensure it is correct and not defective.
  • Checks equipment to ensure proper working conditions.
  • Maintains time and track production.
  • Ability to communicate with Project Managers and General Foremen about establishing and adjusting work sequences to meet schedules.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple employees and projects at once.
  • Ensure that all initial safety and hazard assessments (JHAโ€™s and Worksite Safety Inspections) required by Industrial Mechanical, Inc. and our customers are completed before work begins.
  • Perform competency assessments of subordinate employees.
  • Works with Leadership to develop training plans and coaches to ensure that crews meet required levels of quality.
Education and Experience
  • 3+ years' experience
  • NCCER or AWS certification or completion of a related program through an accredited technical school is preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • *Must be able to meet all physical requirements to perform the job.
  • Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.
  • Lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, including times of inclement weather.
  • Manual dexterity is needed for repetitive tasks and to operate standard operating equipment.
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
  • Must be highly safety cautious and have ability to see and escape from dangerous situations.
  • Ability to climb a ladder and step into various pieces of equipment.
  • Good physical fitness, eye-hand coordination, and ability to quickly respond to sounds.
  • Good sense of balance and ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
  • Ability to wear PPE correctly for working shifts.
