Job description

Hexcel is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our Kent, WA, USA location. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of maintenance craftsmen, related to installing, repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining Kent Site equipment. In addition, they will coordinate activities of contractors related to installation of new equipment and repair of existing equipment. Accountabilities include: creating preventative and predictive maintenance tasks, establishing and maintain an effective stores systems, defining and ordering required spare parts, overseeing maintenance technical projects to improve equipment reliability, reviewing and approving new construction projects requiring maintenance support and maintainability. This position also oversees the janitorial staff.

Summary pay range: $77,968 - $117,324 annual salary.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring appropriate staffing, equipment, and resources to meet operational needs.

  • Establish and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all new and existing equipment based on OEM recommendations and site requirements.

  • Manage spare parts inventory, including obsolescence reviews and optimization of min/max levels to support uptime and cost control.

  • Provide maintenance oversight for new equipment and facility projects, including design input, review/approval, and participation in final equipment buy-offs.

  • Lead root cause analysis and technical troubleshooting of equipment failures to improve reliability and reduce downtime.

  • Partner daily with Facilities and Operations leadership to review performance, address equipment issues, and align on priorities.

  • Execute maintenance and reliability projects on time and within budget, ensuring technically sound outcomes.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and improving maintenance efficiency.

  • Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance craftsmen, including training, performance management, and daily work direction.

  • Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies, ensuring compliance, and driving accountability across the maintenance team.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Minimum 3 year's experience in direct supervision of maintenance craft personnel; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Must possess knowledge of the fundamentals & applications of crafts to include electricity, electronics, HVAC, pneumatic and mechanical repair of Site machinery and equipment, pipe-fitting, garage mechanics, instrumentation, controllers, PLC's, welding, carpentry, painting, precision alignment, mechanical systems and pumps.

  • Must have a thorough understanding of both electrical and millwright crafts. Ability to direct work of both crafts in installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining all Site electrical & mechanical equipment.

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication abilities with ability to speak to large groups and to provide effective group and individual training; demonstrated self-motivation with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification strongly preferred.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

  • Current computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

  • Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
