Job description

Hexcel is currently seeking Maintenance Technicians for our Decatur, AL, USA location.

The hourly pay range for this role is $39.35 - $44.90 and opportunities for pay progression.

The selected individuals will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Maintain the integrity of plant installations by following applicable specifications/standards, and using in-kind components, materials, and practices for repair and service work
  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and service plant buildings, grounds, piping, equipment, mechanical components, and systems while complying with all safety and environmental requirements, industry and plant standards/codes, and best practices
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and service activities
  • Communicate and work effectively with Operators, Engineers, other Maintenance Technicians, and Supervision while providing regular work status updates
  • Perform work in area of expertise (e.g., pipe fabrication / welding, precision machining, precision machine service and/or rigging); review and/or oversee performance of similar work by outside service providers

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two year or higher technical degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing and/or production environment, experience in a continuous chemical processing environment is preferred
  • Journeyman (or equivalent) pipe welder, machinist, or millwright with proficiency in general mechanical maintenance
  • May require 12 hour rotating shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends
