Description
The Dock and Door Technician - Apprentice - upon completing training the Dock and Door Technician - Apprentice will be responsible for installation, service, repair, troubleshooting, and inspecting commercial/industrial overhead doors, loading docks, dock leveling systems, and other warehouse equipment.Â
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Represent Bailey as the primary point of contact for all commercial Dock & Door customers within a service area.Â
Install, service, and repair commercial/industrial doors, door opening systems, loading/warehouse docks, and dock leveling systems.Â
Perform preventative maintenance on Bailey equipment and systems at customer sites.Â
Troubleshoot dock and door equipment, mechanisms, mechanical systems, and electrical circuits.Â
Ensure quality through checking for proper installation, balance, and clearance.Â
Proactively address customer needs and expand Bailey business through prompt, friendly, and safe service.Â
Handle other duties and special projects as assigned.Â
Requirements
 The individual in this position should be personable, a problem solver, reliable, ethical, intelligent, and able to adapt to the forces around them-customers, suppliers, co-workers, and other vendors.Â
Education/Training/Experience:
A technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairsÂ
A minimum of two (2) years experience in industrial maintenance, preferably with servicing warehouse equipment, commercial overhead doors, and/or loading dock equipment.Â
Experience in welding, steel fabrication, and electrical.Â
