Job description

NOW HIRING

Millwork Salesperson

Kingsport, Tennessee  |  Full-Time  |  Base + Commission

If you know the difference between MDF and solid wood, can talk doors and trim with a contractor without reading from a brochure, and you actually enjoy selling — we should talk.

We are looking for a Millwork Salesperson based in Kingsport to work with contractors, builders, remodelers, and homeowners throughout the Tri-Cities area. This is an inside/outside hybrid role — you will spend time at the counter, on the phone, and out visiting job sites and customer accounts. You will be selling doors, windows, trim, moulding, and related millwork products to a market that is actively building.

What You'll Be Doing

•        Building and managing relationships with contractors, builders, and remodeling customers

•        Helping customers select the right millwork products for their projects — doors, windows, trim, moulding, cabinetry components, and more

•        Quoting jobs, writing up orders, and following through from sale to delivery

•        Prospecting for new accounts while taking good care of the ones you already have

•        Walking job sites and meeting with customers in person when needed

•        Working with the counter staff and warehouse to make sure orders go out right and on time

•        Staying current on product lines, pricing changes, and what the competition is doing

Who We're Looking For

You do not have to have sold millwork specifically — but you need to know the product and understand the construction world. Here is what matters:

•        Experience in millwork, lumber, building materials, or a related trade — either in sales or on the tools

•        You can read a set of plans well enough to take off a door and window schedule

•        You know how to talk to contractors — direct, knowledgeable, and without wasting their time

•        You follow up — quotes don't close themselves and customers notice when you don't call back

•        You're organized enough to manage multiple jobs and customers at the same time

•        Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for customer visits

•        Comfortable with basic computer systems for quoting and order entry

•        Prior outside sales experience is a plus but not required if your product knowledge is strong

The Details

•        Location: Kingsport, Tennessee

•        Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard business hours

•        Pay: Base salary + commission — your earnings grow as your book of business grows

•        Benefits: Health insurance, paid time off, and more (details provided at interview)

•        This is a full-time, permanent position — not a temp role

Why This Job

The Tri-Cities construction market is active. Builders are building, remodelers are busy, and good millwork salespeople are hard to find. If you put in the work to build your customer base, this role pays well and has room to grow. You will have the backing of an established operation — inventory, support staff, and supplier relationships already in place. Your job is to sell.
