Job description

As a Millwork Project Manager at Bednark Studio, you are responsible for custom Millwork projects from planning through execution. You ensure the client's vision is executed and delivered on schedule and on budget.

This position requires a candidate who is experienced and professional, and who works best in a collaborative team environment.
This is an in-person position.  Remote work is not available.The ideal candidate has experience managing commercial construction or custom Millwork build-outs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Proposing Millwork fabrication techniques to execute high-end within design and budget restraints and within feasible construction capabilities.
  • Attend job site meetings per project requirements.
  • Lead day-to-day communication with clients to create trust and goodwill.
  • Evaluate and process client feedback of all categories. Deliver the client's message to the appropriate party, and provide the appropriate context. In all cases, responding to the client on the shop’s behalf.
  • Identify and communicate project challenges and brainstorm solutions with clients.
  • Develop, and build proposals that consider their budget and timeline as well as our shop capabilities and bandwidth. This could include, suggesting specific materials, finishes, and hardware.
  • Do takeoffs on materials and submit purchase requisitions for all required materials and goods including outside vendor services.
  • Identify and communicate project challenges and brainstorm solutions with Department Leads.
  • Coordinate all change orders along the project timeline.
  • Ensure all project documents are current and accurate. Includes but is not limited to: Estimates, Elements list, and Project Schedule.
  • Quality control of all elements throughout the fabrication process.
  • Keep quote/scope of work updated to include change orders and additions and document these approval dates and specifics.
  • Work with APM / PC on all billing both in accordance with standard Bednark process and AIA G702 and G703.

Required skill-sets:
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in commercial millwork, architectural woodworking, custom fabrication, or commercial construction.
  • Understanding of fabrication and building methods.
  • Ability to read and redline technical drawings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Procore, and Microsoft Office Suite. (Word, Excel), Google Suites (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
