Project Manager/Estimator - Carpentry

We are looking for the right person to join our team as a Project Manager/Estimator in Carpentry.    Is that you?   If so, we want to talk to you!

Responsibilities

A Project Manager/Estimator in our carpentry division will review and prepare budgets, estimates, and solicit/evaluate quotes from suppliers/subcontractors for construction projects.   Upon award, they will be responsible for the procurement of all materials for the project.  A background with carpentry (Rough & Finish Carpentry, Millwork & Casework, and/or Doors, Frames, & Hardware) is preferred but not required.

Estimating Responsibilities

  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple estimates and proposals concurrently
  • Perform accurate and thorough quantity take-offs
  • Properly evaluate drawings, specs, and other bid documents for all involved scope
  • Conduct site visits, pre-bid meetings, and perform detailed scope evaluations for all trade work
  • Use multiple software systems and web applications for estimating

Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Submission of all required samples, product data, and shop drawings for approval by the architect.
  • Review shop drawings and relay pertinent information to the field team.
  • Procurement of all project required materials.
  • Forecast and analyze construction costs, exposures, and profits.
  • Manage project costs, through ongoing evaluations of labor, material, and equipment.
  • Interface with all company departments as necessary to resolve any issue.
  • Ensure all safety measures, procedures, and requirements are met, followed, and practiced.
  • Submission of record drawings, maintenance manuals & warranties to ensure a smooth and successful closeout.

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements

o   Bluebeam (or similar) PDF viewer/takeoff software

o   Microsoft Applications (Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

·         Preferred

o   Onscreen Takeoff

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Education: A.S. or B.S. in Construction or equivalent field experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 - 5 years general construction experience
