Four Daughters Millwork is looking for a motivated Junior Estimator to join our growing team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is eager to develop a career in construction estimating and custom architectural millwork. Working alongside experienced estimators, project managers, engineers, and production professionals, you'll receive hands-on training while contributing to exciting commercial millwork projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with project cost estimates.
  • Prepare material and labor pricing under the guidance of senior estimators.
  • Solicit and compare pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Maintain organized bid files and estimating documentation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management, and Production throughout the estimating process.
  • Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support multiple bid opportunities while meeting project deadlines.
  • Continue developing technical estimating skills through mentoring and on-the-job training.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technology, Architecture, Architectural Engineering Technology, Engineering, Building Construction, or a closely related field required.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, PlanSwift, or other estimating software is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings or a willingness to develop this skill.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
