As a Millwork Engineer, your daily responsibilities usually involve developing detailed shop drawings, reviewing architectural plans, and collaborating with project managers, designers, and shop floor personnel. A Millwork Engineer is responsible for designing, drafting, and detailing custom woodwork, cabinetry, and architectural millwork for residential or commercial projects. They create technical drawings, shop drawings, and specifications using CAD software, ensuring that designs meet client requirements and industry standards. Millwork Engineers also collaborate with project managers, architects, and production teams to ensure accurate fabrication and installation. Their role requires knowledge of woodworking materials, construction techniques, and manufacturing processes.
To thrive as a Millwork Engineer, you need expertise in architectural drafting, manufacturing processes, and construction materials, typically backed by a degree in engineering or a related field. Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks), project management platforms, and familiarity with building codes and woodworking standards is essential. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help facilitate seamless coordination with clients, architects, and fabrication teams. Project Engineers (PEs) are trained to assist project managers

What Youll Do as Project Engineer (PE)
You will support PMs throughout the project lifecycle
Assist PMs with day-to-day project execution from preconstruction through closeout
Support preparation and management of submittals, RFIs, shop drawing coordination, and procurement tracking
Coordinate internally with Engineering, Purchasing, Production and Field teams
Track project schedules, deliveries, and install readiness to ensure alignment with project timelines
Manage subcontractors scope (stone tops, seating, metal)
Learn to manage small projects from award through closeout
Independently and without oversight be able to manage projects for up to $500K
Requirements
02 years in construction, millwork, or related field preferred
Exposure to submittals, RFIs, or project coordination
Strong organization, communication, and willingness to learn
Technical Expectations
Comfortable with Bluebeam, Procore (or similar), and Excel
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Strong coordination with architects, engineers, and field teams
High attention to detail and finish quality

We offer level-based compensation (adjusted based on location and experience):
PE: $85K $105K per year
