High-End Custom Millwork Fabricator & Installer
Commercial & Residential
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented High-End Custom Millwork Fabricator & Installer to join our team. This role is primarily focused on custom millwork fabrication within our shop environment, while also occasionally leading and supporting field installations on high-end residential and commercial projects. The position is approximately 70% shop fabrication and 30% field installation.
The ideal candidate possesses advanced woodworking and fabrication experience, strong installation capabilities, excellent blueprint-reading skills, and the professionalism required to work alongside architects, designers, general contractors, and discerning clients.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication Responsibilities (Primary Role)
  • Fabricate custom architectural millwork including cabinetry, wall paneling, built-ins, reception desks, feature walls, doors and jamb systems, ceiling details, custom furniture components, decorative wood elements, retail fixtures, hospitality millwork
  • Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, cut lists, specifications, field dimensions, finish schedules
  • Operate woodworking machinery and tools including table saws, sliding saws, jointers, planers, edge banders, CNC equipment, routers, sanders, laminate equipment, specialty woodworking tools
  • Perform precision assembly, fitting, scribing, and quality control of custom components
  • Work with hardwood lumber, veneers, laminates, solid surface materials, MDF, plywood, metal and glass integration components
  • Maintain shop organization, material handling, cleanliness, equipment care, and safety standards
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and lead craftsmen to resolve fabrication challenges and maintain production schedules

Installation Responsibilities (Secondary Role)
  • Lead or assist with installation of high-end millwork packages in residential and commercial environments as needed
  • Perform field measurements and verify site conditions prior to installation
  • Coordinate installation sequencing with superintendents, trades, and project managers
  • Install and scribe cabinetry, paneling, trim, ceiling systems, countertops, doors, and specialty architectural features with exceptional precision
  • Perform field modifications, troubleshooting, and punch-list completion as required
  • Maintain clean, organized, and protected job sites, particularly in occupied luxury homes and active commercial spaces
  • Ensure all installations meet company quality standards and client expectations

Qualifications
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in custom millwork fabrication and installation
  • Strong background in high-end residential and commercial millwork
  • Advanced understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, fabrication methods, construction sequencing, and installation procedures
  • Ability to independently fabricate complex custom millwork projects with minimal supervision
  • Advanced ability to read architectural and shop drawings
  • Experience with premium finishes, veneers, detailed architectural components, and CNC-produced millwork
  • Ability to safely operate woodworking equipment and power tools

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading millwork installations
  • Familiarity with AWI standards, veneer matching, fine finishing techniques, CAD/CAM workflows, CNC operations
  • OSHA safety certification, leadership, or foreman experience
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Compensation is based on experience, craftsmanship level, fabrication efficiency, and installation capability. Pay range $32 - $45 per hour.
