Responsibilities
  • Use sketches, blueprints, specifications, and models to plan operations for the machining of tools and assemblies, ensuring safety and maximum efficiency
  • Programs, sets up, and operates tool room equipment including mills, lathes, and grinders
  • Verify dimensions of finished parts to ensure they conform to specifications
  • Utilize hand and machine tools to assemble parts of tools and to repair and modify gauges, and jigs
  • Design fixtures to be used as work aids for efficient fabrication of products and parts
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to assist in both product design and design for manufacturing
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and perform repairs on tools
  • Interface with external and internal customers, handle supplier and customer concerns and work with team members to solve problems during the production process
  • File and finish workpieces using the appropriate hand tools to ensure products are smooth and that they fit together properly
  • Selects the proper metals and materials to be used based on properties, ensuring they meet project specifications
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of Tool Room Experience
  • Mill, Lathe, and Grinding experience (ProtoTrak experience preferred)
  • Quality oriented
  • Has Computer knowledge and has own tools
  • Reliable with an excellent attendance record.
  • Must stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor and be able to lift between 10 and 50 pounds frequently

Schedule - Approximately 45 hours per week, core hours 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday. (Could be 50 - 55 hours on occasion)
