Naval Integration SME  

Primary Location: Twentynine Palms, CA  

Clearance: Active Secret with Top Secret eligibility 

Ability to work remotely: some telework authorized 


Job Summary 


The Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG) mission is to provide standardized advanced training and certification to Ground Combat Element (GCE) Operations Officers, Operations Chiefs, and select other GCE training specialists in GCE operations, combined arms planning and integration, and unit readiness planning at the company, battalion, and regiment levels to support GCE Training and Readiness (T&R) events. 


The Naval Integration SME will be responsible to support the Exercise Control (EXCON) of Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG). As Naval Integration concepts assume greater emphasis across training, security engagement plans, and crisis-response operations, MCTOG will provide training and virtual exercises to increase core competencies in Joint Naval operations within the USMC GCE.  The Naval Integration SME will participate in a collegial setting and be particularly adept at collecting information, analyzing data, and making presentations before Marine officers and staffs.  


Specific Responsibilities  

  • Support MCTOG exercise design in Naval operations from a Naval Surface Warfare perspective.
  • Support MCTOG Battle Staff and student planning with regarding Naval Integration and Surface Warfare concepts. 
  • Support MCTOG and student planning in the five phases of amphibious assault forcible entry operations. 
  • Present perspectives on current and future naval issues of interest to GCE component within the Marine Corps. 
  • Represent the Navy perspective on conceptual issues and provide MCTOG with expertise on topics such as Composite Warfare Commander, Expeditionary Strike Groups, Sea Basing, Navy Transformation, Maritime Operations Center (MOC), and other related topics.  
  • Articulate current Navy position regarding proposed USMC and Joint/service concepts. 
  • Provide Naval expertise across Amphibious operations, Surface Warfare, MAGTF/Naval Fires, and assist with integrating Naval concepts across MAGTF Intelligence, C5ISR-T, GCE Operations, and Information Operations.   
  • Provide Navy and Marine Corps analysis of the Future Operating Environment (FOE) with current and future adversary capabilities against Joint and Combined operating concepts. 
  • Attend conferences and provide trip reports, which contain debriefs of significant actions and developments of interest to the Marine Corps regarding Navy issues. 
  • Attend and assess instructional classes given by both MCTOG and other Marine Corps and Navy organizations as required. 
  • Develop and provide classroom instruction in support of the MCTOG Academic Program and Battle Staff Training Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 15 years of relevant experience required.  
  • Master's degree in information systems, operations research, management, military science, or relevant areas is desired.  
  • Completion of Command & Staff College or equivalent required.? 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics and command relationships. 
  • Strong ability to effectively educate people who may have only a minimal knowledge of US Navy concepts, operations and resources.   
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team. 
  • Possess self-motivation and a high level of discretion to work effectively under a minimum level of supervision. 
  • Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have a strong attention for detail. 
  • Surface Warfare Officer at the O-4/0-5 level preferred. 
  • Relevant experience with EWTG/TACTRAGRU considered a plus. 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment 

  • Garrison work environment including but not limited to:       
  • occasional field/tactical environments       
  • occasional extended working hours will be required  
  • schedule: M-F 0700 to 1700 

Travel 

  • May be required to travel OCONUS to conduct education or training for subject units. 
  • Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination. 

Salary range:  

  • $90,000-$135,000
