Applications are being accepted for a Microbiology Adjunct (Bio 205) Instructor for our upcoming session. Classes are on Fridays from 1:30 - 4:30 (Lecture) & 5-7 (Lab) and runs from September 4, 2026 - December 18 2026 (No Class on Nov. 27) This post will also serve to establish a pool of qualified candidates for future sessions. This position located at our Main Street campus located in Mesa, AZ.
Job Description: The BIO 205 Microbiology Adjunct Instructor provides high-quality instruction in microbiology to adult learners. The instructor is responsible for teaching foundational and applied concepts related to microorganisms, including cell structure, microbial physiology, genetics, immunology, and infectious disease. The instructor will design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the approved course curriculum, maintain a safe and well-organized lab environment, and evaluate student performance through assessments, labs, and projects. This position requires a commitment to student success, professional integrity, and adherence to EVIT policies and procedures.
Salary: $6000.00 (4 Credit Class paid at $1500/ Credit)
Job Type: Non-Exempt, As-needed
Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree in Microbiology, Biology or closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • One (1) year of college-level teaching experience is required.
  • A minimum of 18 graduate level credits in Microbiology or Biology with a grade of "C" or higher.

Preferred Experience:
  • At least two (2) years of collegiate-level teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching microbiology or related laboratory-based courses preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of microbiological principles, laboratory techniques, and current trends in the biological sciences.
  • Experience maintaining safe laboratory environments and complying with biosafety standards.
  • Strong ability to engage diverse learners through hands-on, inquiry-based instruction.
  • Experience using Canvas, Google Classroom, and ExamSoft or similar learning management systems.

Licensing /Certification and Other Requirements:
  • Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Prints (IVP) Level 1 fingerprint card.
  • Proof of immunization against or immunity to measles and rubella if born after January 1, 1957.
