What is military relocation?

Military relocation refers to the process by which military personnel and their families move from one duty station to another, either within the same country or internationally. These moves, also called Permanent Change of Station (PCS), are a regular part of military life and often involve logistical planning, housing arrangements, and support services. Relocation can be challenging due to tight timelines and the need to uproot families, but support is available through military relocation assistance programs and real estate professionals who specialize in serving military members.

To thrive as a Military Relocation Specialist, you need in-depth knowledge of real estate practices, military relocation processes, and local housing markets, typically supported by a real estate license and experience with military clients. Familiarity with specialized tools such as MLS systems, relocation software, and certifications like Military Relocation Professional (MRP) is highly beneficial.
