POSITION DESCRIPTION: Senior Logistics SME & Naval/Marine Logistics Initiative (NLI/MLI) Manager

Location: Quantico, VA and Pentagon
Status: Contingent Hire_Full-Time_Hybrid
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required

MUST HAVE: Proven experience supporting the U.S. Marine Corps, Department of the Navy and NLI/MLI

Position Summary

The Senior Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) & Naval/Marine Logistics Initiative (NLI/MLI) Manager provides senior-level logistics planning, analysis, integration, and coordination support to Department of Defense and Marine Corps organizations. The position supports Naval Logistics Initiative and Marine Logistics Initiative activities and coordinates logistics efforts across the Joint Logistics Enterprise (JLEnt), including U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Military Services, Combatant Commands, Host Nations, and other logistics partners.

The Senior Logistics SME identifies logistics gaps, risks, dependencies, and integration opportunities and develops recommendations that improve logistics readiness and interoperability. The position plans and facilitates synchronization meetings, coordinates stakeholder actions, and helps integrate logistics capabilities and initiatives across Service, Joint, interagency, and multinational partners.

Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizen with an Active Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a CAC card. Valid U.S. passport required.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting DoD, Joint, Service-level, or military logistics planning, operations, integration, or sustainment activities.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating logistics activities with USTRANSCOM, DLA, Military Services, Combatant Commands, or other Joint Logistics Enterprise partners.
  • Experience supporting Joint Logistics Enterprise (JLEnt) integration, Joint logistics planning, or comparable enterprise-level logistics activities.
  • Experience coordinating logistics requirements with Host Nations, allies, partner nations, or multinational organizations.
  • Ability to identify and analyze logistics gaps, constraints, risks, dependencies, and capability shortfalls and recommend solutions.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and facilitating logistics synchronization meetings, working groups, integrated planning teams, or senior-level forums.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics planning, distribution, transportation, supply, sustainment, and logistics integration principles.
  • Ability to coordinate complex initiatives across multiple organizations and reconcile competing requirements and priorities.
  • Strong research, analytical, briefing, writing, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior leaders, logistics SMEs, planners, action officers, Government stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Military Studies, or a related field.
  • Previous experience supporting the U.S. Marine Corps, Department of the Navy, Joint Staff, USTRANSCOM, DLA, or a Combatant Command.
  • Experience supporting the Naval Logistics Initiative (NLI), Marine Logistics Initiative (MLI), or similar Joint/Service logistics integration initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Joint and Marine Corps logistics doctrine, policies, processes, organizations, and capabilities.
  • Experience with Host-Nation Support (HNS), theater logistics, distribution networks, access and basing considerations, or multinational logistics coordination.
  • Experience supporting logistics operations in contested, distributed, expeditionary, or operational environments.
  • Experience developing senior-level logistics assessments, decision briefs, synchronization products, and recommendations.
Primary Duties
  • Lead and support NLI/MLI planning, coordination, integration, and synchronization activities across Service, Joint, interagency, and multinational logistics partners.
  • Coordinate logistics initiatives and requirements with USTRANSCOM, DLA, Military Services, Combatant Commands, Host Nations, and other JLEnt stakeholders.
  • Identify logistics gaps, seams, capability shortfalls, constraints, risks, and dependencies that affect operational readiness and sustainment.
  • Analyze logistics challenges and develop actionable recommendations that improve integration, interoperability, responsiveness, and resilience.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate logistics synchronization meetings, working groups, planning sessions, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Develop agendas, briefings, decision-support materials, meeting products, action items, and follow-up documentation for logistics forums.
  • Track stakeholder actions, decisions, dependencies, and unresolved issues through completion.
  • Coordinate with Host Nations and other partners to support logistics integration and identify requirements, capabilities, limitations, and opportunities for cooperation.
  • Facilitate information sharing and synchronization among logistics stakeholders to align priorities, requirements, capabilities, and planned activities.
  • Conduct research and analysis of logistics policies, plans, concepts, capabilities, and initiatives to support senior-leader decisions.
  • Develop executive briefings, logistics assessments, reports, information papers, analyses, and recommendations for Government leadership.
  • Support other Joint, Naval, Marine Corps, and multinational logistics planning, coordination, and integration requirements as assigned.
