WHO ARE YOU?
PEG, LLC is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and team-focused Human Resources Coordinator to support the daily operations of our Human Resources Department. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, maintaining employee records and HRIS data integrity, assisting with compliance-related documentation, supporting recruiting efforts through social media job promotion, and providing administrative and operational support to the HR Team.
The qualified candidate must recognize the importance of working efficiently, proactively, and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while supporting both current and future PEG Team Members. This role contributes directly to the employee experience by helping ensure HR processes, personnel documentation, and communication workflows are organized, compliant, and effectively maintained. The HR Coordinator will also assist in creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and supporting HR reporting initiatives that help streamline communication and operational consistency companywide.
The ideal candidate must possess strong communication and organizational skills, as this position regularly interacts with employees, candidates, managers, and leadership across multiple departments and professional disciplines. As part of the Human Resources Department, this role requires an individual who understands the importance of confidentiality, compliance with labor laws and employment regulations, and the impact that efficient HR operations have on supporting PEG's continued success, workforce development, and commitment to operational excellence.
THE ROLE
Job Location:
This position is based in our main office in Fairfax, VA.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating onboarding and offboarding processes, including completion of new hire packets, employment documentation, personnel file maintenance, and separation-related tasks to ensure a seamless employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within the HRIS and personnel filing systems, including Driver Documentation, I-9 documentation, certification records, and other compliance-related documentation to support organizational integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Support recruitment initiatives by assisting with job postings and sharing open positions across recruiting and social media platforms to increase candidate visibility, engagement, and hiring effectiveness.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for routine employee inquiries related to HR processes, policies, benefits, and employment documentation while delivering professional, timely, and employee-focused support.
  • Collaborate with the HR Team to support reporting initiatives, maintain accurate HR data, and streamline communication across the department and company leadership to improve operational efficiency and informed decision-making.
  • Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assigned responsibilities to ensure consistency, process accuracy, and continuous improvement as systems, software, and workflows evolve.
  • Assist with benefits administration, employee status updates, and other administrative HR functions to help ensure accurate and timely employee support services.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices by maintaining required documentation, assisting with audits, and helping ensure policy adherence.
  • Maintain current knowledge of human resources trends, employment law updates, HR technologies, and best practices through professional development, training opportunities, workshops, and industry resources.
  • Partner with the HR Team on departmental initiatives, special projects, and process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness, employee engagement, and overall organizational performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the goals, priorities, and ongoing success of the Human Resources Department.
Education/Experience:
  • 2+ years of previous work experience working as an HR Administrator, HR Coordinator, or similar position.
  • Relevant HR Certification (aPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) is preferred.
