Job description

Responsibilities

 Production welding various mechanical structures such as boat anchors, ground anchors, ladder hoists and winch

mounts

 Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures

 Set up equipment and fixture weld parts various parts as instructed

 Use automated welding “ring” to weld various ground anchors to drawing

 Complete first article inspection

 Use the computer to report quantity

 Report issues and defective parts

 Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

 Help as needed in other areas in the department such as “paint pack”

 Various shop/welding tasks as assigned

 Always maintain clean work environment. Do not leave a mess for the next shift.

 Proven experience as welder

o MIG welding on carbon steel is the most common practice at Tiedown.

 Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures

 Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

 Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
