Along with buying and selling energy commodities at the wholesale level, UGIES owns and operates key midstream natural gas assets.

Job Summary
UGI needs an experienced engineer to work in the Operations Engineering team. The Engineer's primary responsibility will be to support the Company's existing RNG assets including anaerobic digestion, feedstock receiving and preparation, wastewater treatment, dewatering, biogas treatment and upgrading and related processes, and to support the commissioning of various systems.
**Qualified candidates are eligible for relocation.**
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and guidance at existing, anaerobic digestion facilities, RNG upgrading facilities and related manure and organics derived feedstocks.
  • Develop documentation in support of routine operations, to include operating procedures, operations manuals, maintenance manuals procedures, regulatory submissions, etc.
  • Develop and implement operating strategies and capital improvement projects to improve the safety, reliability, and profitability of both facilities and systems. Review project designs for Operations capital projects including conceptualization, PFD and P&ID creation, plot plans, mechanical design, structural design, control philosophies, etc., to ensure process objectives and code requirements are met.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards, particularly NFPA 820, and all referenced codes therein. Additional familiarity with ten state standards, applicable OH and NY state regulations for treatment, and various NFPA publications desired
  • Self-motivated and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-developed technical skills in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, biological treatment and wastewater management.
  • Professional, reliable, self-directing work habits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS software. Additional proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam Revu preferred.
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills

Education and Experience
  • BS in Mechanical, Environmental or Chemical Engineering strongly preferred; BS in an Engineering discipline required
  • 5+ years of work experience in a related technical field.
  • Preference given to applicants with experience in the renewable natural gas industry, wastewater management, biological treatment, or similar
