As a 2027 University Intern - Midstream Engineer, you will gain hands-on experience through meaningful projects that help build your technical and professional skills at Phillips 66.

What You'll Do

Summer internship activities may include the following: 

  • Orientation, training events, field trips, social activities, seminars, and opportunities to meet and interact with functional business leaders and executives.
  • Participating in continuous coaching conversations with your manager, who will provide meaningful feedback throughout your internship.
  • An assigned mentor for further guidance, assistance with the technical challenges of your role, and aid in navigating through the day-to-day questions regarding working in the corporate world.
  • Giving a presentation at the end of the summer to senior business leaders and key stakeholders. This opportunity allows you to demonstrate what you learned in your internship, the impacts you made, and provide insight on your experience

An engineering summer internship with Phillips 66 Midstream will allow you opportunities to make contributions that support our Midstream organizations:

  • An Internship with Impact: Projects are chosen to provide a clear view of what an engineering professional does within Phillips 66. Areas of focus may include optimization of an existing process, improving energy efficiency, handling key logistics, improving equipment reliability, monitoring emissions, or completing permit applications, optimizing the use of equipment by finding and eliminating defects, using sophisticated modeling and data analysis software tools. Each project will address an area of importance to the business.
  • Expand Your View: Work side-by-side with experienced engineers, collaborate with industry professionals, and network with other interns.
  • Continue Learning: An introduction to company practices, procedures and technical tools, technical training classes, participating in technical networks, and on-the-job training. 

Internship opportunities could be located in Houston, TX or Bartlesville, OK


 
Requirements for a Phillips 66 Internship:

 
 
Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science/Corrosion, Metallurgical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent field of study
  • Greater than 30 hours of earned college credit
  • Pursuing a degree for the duration of the internship
  • Expected to graduate in August 2027 or later
  • Available for a minimum of eleven continuous weeks

Compensation Range

This position has a pay range of $2,564- $3,946 bi-weekly, dependent on a candidate's degree type and expected graduation date.
