Job description

Role: Sr. Middleware Developer

Location: Downtown Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Duration: 6+ month

The Senior Middleware Developer is responsible for the design, development, enhancement, support, and maintenance of enterprise applications within the Oracle Fusion ecosystem. This role partners closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable, high-performing solutions that support operational and strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies, including SOA Suite, Oracle Service Bus (OSB), Java development, and PL/SQL programming, along with expertise in systems integration, application architecture, and enterprise software development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications across multiple technical environments.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Design user workflows, application architecture, software patterns, integrations, and data models that support current and future business needs.
  • Develop and maintain integrations utilizing Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies, including Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle Service Bus (OSB).
  • Create, optimize, and maintain PL/SQL code, database objects, and Oracle database solutions.
  • Adhere to established development standards, coding practices, and software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Coordinate with upstream and downstream application teams, infrastructure teams, and project stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while minimizing business disruption.
  • Support application performance tuning, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in system upgrades, migrations, releases, and production deployments.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning, testing, documentation, and recovery activities.
  • Conduct technical research and evaluate emerging technologies to improve application capabilities and system performance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and operational procedures.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects while effectively managing priorities and deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with:
    • Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies, including Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle Service Bus (OSB)
    • Java application development
    • PL/SQL programming and Oracle Database development
    • Oracle development tools such as TOAD and SQL Developer
    • Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience developing and supporting enterprise integrations and business-critical applications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Java application servers such as Oracle WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, or IBM WebSphere.
  • Knowledge of web and integration technologies, including HTML, XML, WSDL, REST, SOAP, and scripting languages.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, cloud integrations, and modern enterprise architectures.
