Job description

Senior NetSuite Techno-Functional Consultant

Work Arrangement: Remote
Engagement Type: Long-term 1099 independent contractor
Initial Workload: Approximately 5–10 hours per week
Growth Potential: May increase to approximately 20 hours and eventually 30+ hours per week
Compensation: Competitive Competitive Parity? No. Competitive hourly 1099 rate based on qualifications and scope

Position Overview

Driggs Search International is recruiting a Senior NetSuite Techno-Functional Consultant for a retained client, a boutique consulting firm specializing in complex NetSuite environments.

This opportunity is designed for a consultant who can lead client discovery, understand business and accounting requirements, design the technical architecture, and remain hands-on throughout development, implementation, deployment, and go-live.

This is not a traditional W-2 position. It is a long-term 1099 consulting relationship that begins gradually while the consultant learns the firm’s methodology and demonstrates their ability to work effectively with clients.

Engagement Model

Consultants typically begin with approximately 5–10 hours per week during onboarding. The workload may increase to approximately 20 hours per week and eventually 30+ hours as the consultant becomes integrated and takes on additional client work.

The initial hours are a starting point rather than the intended long-term workload. However, the timing and number of hours are not guaranteed and depend on performance, client demand, and mutual fit.

This position does not include traditional employee benefits, and there is no guaranteed conversion to W-2 employment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client discovery and requirements-gathering sessions
  • Understand business processes, accounting requirements, technical constraints, and existing NetSuite architecture
  • Translate business needs into scalable technical and functional solutions
  • Develop solution designs, technical specifications, implementation plans, and supporting documentation
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support NetSuite customizations
  • Develop and optimize SuiteScript 2.x and 2.1 solutions
  • Configure SuiteFlow, SuiteBuilder, custom records, forms, fields, workflows, roles, and permissions
  • Architect integrations using REST, SOAP, SuiteTalk, RESTlets, APIs, and middleware platforms
  • Create SuiteAnalytics workbooks, saved searches, dashboards, reports, and performance metrics
  • Support NetSuite OneWorld and multi-subsidiary environments
  • Diagnose performance problems, technical debt, broken processes, and ineffective customizations
  • Explain complex technical recommendations clearly to executives and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Independently own projects from discovery through implementation, go-live, and post-launch stabilization
  • Collaborate remotely while maintaining consistent communication and meeting agreed deadlines

Required Qualifications

  • At least seven years of hands-on NetSuite experience preferred
  • Advanced SuiteScript 2.x or 2.1 development capabilities
  • Client-facing NetSuite consulting experience
  • Demonstrated ownership of NetSuite projects from discovery through implementation or go-live
  • NetSuite OneWorld and multi-subsidiary experience
  • SuiteFlow, SuiteBuilder, SuiteAnalytics, saved searches, and custom-record experience
  • REST, SOAP, SuiteTalk, RESTlet, API, and third-party integration experience
  • Understanding of script governance, execution contexts, performance optimization, logging, and error handling
  • Ability to independently diagnose complex NetSuite problems and recommend practical solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives, accounting teams, operational leaders, and developers
  • Availability to support U.S.-based clients and meetings
  • Legal authorization to accept a direct 1099 engagement without employment sponsorship

Functional Knowledge

Qualified candidates should have practical knowledge in several of the following areas:

  • General Ledger and financial reporting
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Order to Cash
  • Procure to Pay
  • Revenue recognition
  • Intercompany accounting
  • Period close
  • CRM and order management
  • Inventory and distribution
  • Manufacturing or warehouse operations
  • Multi-currency and multi-subsidiary environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Celigo, Boomi, MuleSoft, or comparable integration-platform experience
  • NetSuite certifications
  • SuiteCloud Development Framework
  • Git and CI/CD deployment practices
  • Solution-architecture or technical-lead experience
  • Experience mentoring developers or reviewing technical work
  • Experience repairing or redesigning ineffective NetSuite implementations
  • Responsible use of AI-assisted development, testing, documentation, or system analysis

Outside Employment and Conflicts

Candidates currently employed by Oracle, a NetSuite partner, or another consulting organization must confirm that outside consulting is permitted.

Any required conflict-of-interest disclosure, manager approval, or other authorization must be completed before beginning work. Consultants must not use another employer’s time, equipment, confidential information, or client relationships.

Interview Process

  1. Initial qualification interview with Driggs Search International
  2. Written candidate questionnaire
  3. Short recorded video responses
4 4. Virtual interview with the Technology Practice Lead
  4. Practical technical project
  5. Reference and background review
  6. Offer and start-date determination

Responsiveness, communication, and timely completion of each step are part of the evaluation process.

Application Requirements

Please submit your current resume and include brief answers to the following:

  1. How many years have you worked directly with NetSuite?
  2. How many years have you used SuiteScript 2.x or 2.1?
  3. Have you personally led a client engagement from discovery through go-live?
