Job description

St. Joseph Catholic School is seeking a faith-filled, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Middle School Math/Science Teacher to join our school community. The ideal candidate will inspire students academically, spiritually, and socially while teaching middle school mathematics and science in a Catholic educational environment. Candidates must be able to teach Pre-Algebra and Algebra and foster a classroom culture of high expectations, respect, and curiosity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach middle school mathematics courses including:
    • Pre-Algebra
    • Algebra
    • General middle school mathematics concepts
  • Teach middle school science courses aligned with school curriculum standards
  • Develop engaging lesson plans that meet the academic needs of diverse learners
  • Integrate Catholic values and teachings into classroom instruction and daily interactions
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and faith-centered classroom environment
  • Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, projects, labs, and classroom participation
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom expectations
  • Use technology effectively to enhance instruction and student learning
  • Collaborate with faculty, administration, and families to support student success
  • Participate in school Masses, prayer services, staff meetings, and school events
  • Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and student records
  • Support the mission and philosophy of Catholic education

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or related field required
  • Valid teaching certificate/license preferred
  • Ability to teach both Pre-Algebra and Algebra required
  • Middle school teaching experience preferred
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Practicing Catholic preferred, but all qualified candidates supportive of Catholic education are encouraged to apply

Employment Information

  • Full-time position
  • Salary: Starting at $38,000. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
  • Benefits: A comprehensive package of benefits is offered including two medical plan options, dental, vision, life, accidental death and disability, long term disability, pension, 403(b), HSA, FSA, and generous sick leave, vacation, and holidays.
