The Middle Mile technology organization, builds complex software solutions that work across our vendors, warehouses and carriers to optimize both time & cost of getting the packages delivered. Our services already handle thousands of requests per second, make business decisions impacting billions of dollars a year, integrate with a network of small and large carriers, owner operators and drivers worldwide, manage business rules for millions of unique products, and improve ordering and delivery experience for millions of online shoppers. That said, this remains a fast growing business and our technical journey has only started. An example of a recent innovation from this group is AmazonFlex (flex.amazon.com) that enables crowdsourced last mile delivery. As a member of this collaborative team, you will have an opportunity to make an impact in Amazon Logistics and work with a group of talented program managers, product managers, research scientists, software developers, and business stakeholders to design the Amazon network of the future.
As a Sr. Product Manager, you will operate at the crossroads of multiple complex Amazon systems, getting global visibility of how Amazon moves inventory across out network and serves our customers. Specifically, this role will be responsible for driving the delivery of technology features that enable our real time routing technology. This role will also own critical efficiency metrics that measure how well we utilize our capacity, where we have opportunities to expand, and how can we better manager our P&L. As a business owner you will be expected to monitor weekly metrics and callouts, direct and occasionally perform deep dives, generate product artifacts (vision and strategy documents, BRD, Launch Plans), and contribute to monthly business reviews with VPs.
The successful candidate will be voraciously curious about Amazon's transportation operations and how data consumed and produced by our systems can be used to improve outcomes and lower costs. Your responsibility is to expose and measure the current performance of our systems, find and quantify opportunities for improvement, and dive deep into existing algorithms to explain unexpected performance. We are looking for innovators to be a sophisticated user of data querying tools, and an expert at synthesizing and communicating insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication.
Key job responsibilities
1. Support the technology products for trailer management to optimize for cost and automation
2. End-to-end ownership of requirements gathering, documentation, planning, and implementation of cost-effective solutions for Amazon transportation network
3. Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally across multiple teams in operations, technology and planning to define strategic roadmaps while keeping the impact of the solution to all stakeholders in mind
4. Creating and implementing data driven improvements to Amazon's transportation network that deliver flexible and efficient products for our customers
5. Designing and implementing feedback mechanisms to drive performance and cost improvement in processes
6. Ability to deep dive and do root-cause analysis using data, and create metrics-driven, actionable, and sustainable solutions for the future
7. Monitor KPI's across nodes and analyze their drivers to determine the level and type of engagement required based on the risk to customer experience and utilization of technology
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience as a product manager or owner
- Experience owning technology products
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
- Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
