Job description

Indian Creek School is an independent, co-ed day school in which 600 students aged 3 to Grade 12 partner with innovative teachers in an outstanding educational program. Located on a beautiful, 114-acre campus in Crownsville, Maryland (just north of Annapolis), ICS students are nurtured and known as individuals while being challenged to discover their passions, purpose, and potential. ICS seeks faculty and staff who support our mission and values, who are committed to nurturing learners as individuals, and who are looking to join a vibrant community of professionals who are passionate about education. This is a full-time (40 hours), 10-month position with occasional summer responsibilities, reporting to the Middle and Upper School principals.

Requirements

· Serve as a member of the collaborative Middle and Upper School faculty, teaching four sections of mathematics, including Geometry and Algebra 1.

· Show interest in knowing, caring for, challenging, and supporting students as individuals.

· Plan and implement effective lessons and units.

· Use a variety of assessments to measure and respond to student learning and engagement.

· Integrate technology, such as Desmos STAR, to assess and build students’ understanding of math concepts.

· Use ICS technology systems, including the School’s Learning Management System, to provide students with course materials and feedback.

· Team with the math department in designing curriculum and elevating student confidence and performance in mathematics.

· Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members.

· Work with the Upper School Principal, Middle School Principal and faculty to ensure high-quality education and an engaging experience for students.

· Write student reports as required.

· Serve as an academic advisor to a group of students.

· Attend all divisional, departmental, and school faculty meetings, including professional development days.

Requirements:

· Ability to teach multiple levels of math, including Geometry and Algebra 1

· Desire to be actively engaged in the work of innovative teaching, diversity and inclusion, and ongoing professional growth.   

· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (Master’s preferred)

Benefits

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of  factors, including a candidate's years of experience at an educational institution and prior administrative experience and responsibilities. Candidates will be offered a competitive salary and are exempt from overtime within the range of $58,500 - $98,520, dependent on experience.   

In addition to the annual salary, Indian Creek School offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as life insurance, critical illness and accident coverage, and both short- and long-term disability for the employee and their eligible dependents.   We offer a 403 (b) retirement plan with employer match to help you plan for the future. PTO includes vacation, sick, holiday, and parental/family leave.
