JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Executive Producer, Regional Products

About MBN
Middle East Broadcasting Networks (MBN) is the premier Arabic-first media organization that connects the Middle East and the United States. The company is in the midst of an exciting digital transformation and looking for energetic and talented people who care about journalism and the Middle East to join us on this journey.
We provide original and indispensable reporting, perspectives and commentary on the Middle East and how America's engagement impacts the region. MBN delivers content in both Arabic and English across multiple platforms, in formats including written articles, short-form video, newsletters, podcasts, data trackers and social media.
Our target audience is decision-makers, influencers, and residents of key capitals across the Middle East, as well as the next generation of globally engaged, digitally connected youth.
About the Role
The Executive Producer, Regional Products oversees the conceptualization, daily production, editorial direction, and multiplatform delivery of MBN's original shows, video series, and narrative podcasts produced across the MENA region.
Working directly with the Editor-in-Chief, this role directs production pipelines across key regional hubs-including Beirut, Amman, Baghdad, Cairo, Dubai, and beyond. The Executive Producer ensures that regional productions meet rigorous journalistic standards while being engineered from the ground up for digital performance, YouTube distribution, and emerging platforms.
Ø The ideal candidate possesses deep editorial judgment, hands-on technical proficiency across video and audio workflows, and a proven ability to lead and coach distributed teams of hosts, producers, writers, and editors across multiple Arab capitals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following tasks are considered essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions:
Editorial Direction and Program Development
Ø Partner with the Editor-in-Chief to conceptualize, commission, and launch original regional shows, video franchises, and podcasts that align with MBN's mission and content strategy.
Ø Set and maintain the daily and long-term editorial direction for all regional non-news programming, ensuring nuanced, balanced, and fact-checked coverage.
Ø Study the MENA media landscape and competitor output systematically to identify content gaps, audience trends, and format opportunities.
Ø Develop show and podcast concepts tailored specifically for target demographics in key Arab capitals as well as the digital youth audience.
Cross-Bureau Production Management and Delivery
Ø Direct day-to-day operations and production schedules across distributed teams in Beirut, Amman, Baghdad, Cairo, Dubai, and other field locations.
Ø Enforce strict production deadlines to ensure reliable, on-time delivery of daily and weekly show episodes, podcast installments, and recurring video packages.
Ø Supervise the complete production pipeline: pitching, research, pre-interviews, rundown construction, scripting, studio tapings, remote shoots, editing, and final sign-off.
Ø Conduct regular production meetings, set clear daily deliverables, and provide structured operational and editorial reports to executive leadership.
Digital Strategy, Packaging, and Distribution
Ø Architect full-episode structures alongside digital-first cutdowns, segmentations, and short-form promotional clips tailored for YouTube, vertical video platforms, and social channels.
Ø Optimize all regional video and audio assets for discovery: title development, custom thumbnail strategies, retention hooks, pacing, and platform-specific metadata.
Ø Explore, test, and operationalize content distribution across new and emerging digital platforms, streaming outlets, and podcast networks to expand regional reach and engagement.
Talent Management and Coaching
Ø Scout, recruit, and train on-air hosts, podcast talent, writers, producers, video editors, and sound designers across bureaus.
Ø Provide direct editorial and technical coaching to hosts and contributors, refining interview styles, delivery, and adherence to appropriate Arabic-language registers.
Ø Train video editors and field producers on pacing, visual structure, script compression, and multiplatform storytelling standards.
Technical Oversight and Innovation
Ø Maintain technical and aesthetic quality standards across all regional outputs, covering camera setups, lighting, remote filming setups, audio mixing, and graphics integration.
Ø Troubleshoot and manage technical workflows for field shoots and multi-bureau remote productions.
Ø Integrate AI-assisted production and editorial tools-such as automated transcription, captioning, audio stem separation, and pacing analysis-into standard workflows while preserving editorial integrity.
Other Duties:
Ø Perform additional job-related duties and take on new responsibilities as needed based on organizational requirements and circumstances.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Candidates are required to have:
Ø Bachelor's degree in journalism, Media Production, Film/Video, Communications, or equivalent professional experience.
Ø 8-10+ years of progressive editorial and production experience in television, digital video, or multimedia journalism, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or Executive Producer capacity.
Ø Complete professional and editorial fluency in Arabic and English, with the proven ability to evaluate scripts, cuts, and rundowns independently in both languages.
Ø Proven track record of managing production teams or bureaus across the Middle East and North Africa (e.g., Levant, Gulf, Egypt, Iraq).
Ø Demonstrated success launching and scaling recurring video formats, YouTube-first programming, and audio/video podcasts with strong audience retention.
Ø Hands-on technical knowledge of non-linear editing (Adobe Premiere Pro), audio post-production (Pro Tools, Adobe Audition), field camera operations, lighting, and multi-camera remote shooting setups.
Ø Demonstrated ability to direct distributed, cross-border creative and technical teams under tight daily deadlines.
Ø Working knowledge of AI-assisted media workflows and practical understanding of their limitations in Arabic-language journalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ø Prior experience working within an international news network, public broadcaster, or high-volume digital newsroom.
Ø In-depth understanding of U.S. foreign policy, MENA regional geopolitics, and cultural nuances across different Arab regions.
Ø Experience managing hybrid production models combining linear broadcast standards with digital-native distribution.
MBN is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
