Join a brand-new retail pharmacy in Galena, IL as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC). You will lead all pharmacy operations, supervise pharmacy technicians, and ensure safe, accurate, and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care to the local community. This role is ideal for an experienced retail pharmacy leader who wants ownership, stability, and a weekday schedule with on-site parking.
Prepare and dispense medications accurately and safely in accordance with provider prescriptions.
Review prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, drug interactions, and legal compliance.
Organize the pharmacy for efficient workflow and fast product identification.
Maintain control of medication inventory, including ordering, stocking, labeling, and monitoring for expiration or deterioration.
Provide clear counseling, education, and advice to patients regarding medications and therapies.
Maintain complete and accurate patient profiles and medication histories.
Stay current with HIPAA requirements and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse credentialing.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards.
Ensure all pharmacy staff follow facility policies and procedures.
Direct the daily work of pharmacy technicians, including workflow oversight and performance input.
