Job description

Overview

EXPLEO GROUP USA is seeking a Senior Consultant Software Engineer (Level 6) to deliver high-impact embedded software solutions across advanced aerospace systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced control algorithms for power electronic applications
  • Develop software requirements and embedded code for systems such as 3-phase Active Rectifiers, motor control electronics, DC-DC converters, and AC drives
  • Contribute to overall system architecture and independently develop subsystem designs balancing performance, cost, and reliability
  • Perform software testing, debugging, and optimization at both source and assembly levels
  • Collaborate with control system engineers to enhance system performance and efficiency
  • Lead or support software design reviews and interface with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams
  • Develop software documentation including requirements specifications, interface control documents, and design reports
  • Create verification and validation plans, including DVTP and DVTR documentation
  • Support feasibility, development, validation, verification, and qualification testing activities
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and airworthiness requirements (RTCA/DO-178, DO-160, DO-254)
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Interface with internal teams and external OEMs to ensure successful program execution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (ABET-accredited or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of aerospace embedded software development experience
  • Strong experience with RTCA/DO-178 processes and documentation
  • Hands-on programming skills in C/C++, VHDL/Verilog, and/or scripting languages (Python, Perl, PowerShell)
  • Experience with embedded systems architecture and firmware development (DSPs, microcontrollers such as TMS320, PIC, or similar)
  • Knowledge of aerospace communication protocols (CAN, ARINC429, SPI, I2C, RS-232)
  • Experience with simulation and design tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSPICE, or PSIM
  • Familiarity with power electronics systems (PFC, inverters, motor control systems)
  • Ability to lead technical efforts and work effectively in cross-functional environments
