Job description

RVE (an Ardurra company) is seeking a Municipal Engineer II/III to join our team in Morganville, NJ.

Municipal engineers design projects that improve the quality of life for those in the communities they serve. J.C. Remington, an early visionary in the industry, formed what is now RVE with the mission to deliver excellent client service by solving challenges faced by local municipalities. Over the last 120 years, we have built on that legacy and broadened our commitment: more than 150 professional and technical staff deliver projects in collaboration with more than 250 client partners, some of whom have been with us since the early 1900s. We serve as Engineer of Record to Municipalities, Engineer and Planner to Municipalities and their Planning, Zoning and/or Land Use Boards, Board Consultant and Floodplain Manager. Our team members include professional engineers, professional planners (AICP), licensed surveyors, GIS professionals, certified flood plain managers, environmental engineers and construction managers and inspectors. Our full-service staff provides the complete breadth and depth of consulting services including professional design, planning and construction services for infrastructure capital improvements; environmental remediation; utilities collection and distribution; treatment design; public facility additions and renovations; park and recreation improvements; redevelopment and master planning projects. We also identify, pursue, and obtain grant funding for municipal projects through our inhouse grants department.

Primary Function:

The Municipal Engineer II/III is a mid-level position with approximately 3-5 years of experience. This individual will provide engineering services on all phases of an assigned project under the supervision of the Project Manager.

Primary Duties:

  • Contribute to and oversee civil/site design for a wide variety of projects, including parks, municipal infrastructure, athletic facilities, schools, higher education campuses, and industrial/commercial developments.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support municipal stormwater management, roadway improvements, and drainage system upgrades.
  • Conduct utility coordination and support the preparation of construction documents for W/WW infrastructure.
  • Assist with assigned municipal project tasks to ensure successful delivery within established scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Work both independently and as part of a municipal project team, using sound judgment and technical expertise with limited supervision.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering Preferred) from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Proficient in AutoCAD® Civil 3d computer aided design software
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of software including, but not limited to Word Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to multitask, appropriately prioritize workflow and complete tasks on schedule and within budget
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Engineering-in-Training (EIT) required, working toward PE Licensure highly valuable

The annual base salary range for this full-time position in the United States is $70,000 - $91,500.
