Job Summary

Beryl Engineering & Inspection is seeking a Licensed Home Inspector with mid-level field experience to join our inspection team. As an engineering firm, Beryl adapts to a variety of inspection needs, including technical or specialized inspections that may go beyond a standard home inspection scope.

This role is responsible for performing residential inspections, assisting with occasional commercial inspections, documenting findings clearly, and representing the company professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams. The position requires statewide travel throughout Florida, including occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform residential home inspections in accordance with company standards, inspection protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Assist with occasional commercial inspections as assigned and within the inspectors experience, training, and licensed scope.
  • Inspect structural, roofing, exterior, interior, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building components within licensed scope.
  • Adapt to technical or specialized inspection assignments supported by Beryls engineering background.
  • Document findings thoroughly and prepare accurate reports within required timeframes.
  • Communicate inspection findings professionally and clearly to clients and internal team members.
  • Coordinate with scheduling, dispatch, management, and administrative teams to support smooth operations.
  • Maintain professionalism during site visits, client interactions, and contractor communications.
  • Travel throughout Florida as assigned, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Participate in additional training and cross-training as needed.
  • Follow company procedures related to inspections, reporting, safety, and client communication.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Florida Home Inspector License.
  • Mid-level experience performing residential inspections.
  • Strong knowledge of residential building systems and common construction defects.
  • Ability to complete detailed and accurate inspection reports.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while following company procedures.
  • Professional demeanor with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout Florida.
  • Availability for occasional overnight travel.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Maintained and reliable vehicle suitable for statewide travel.
  • Ability to pass any required background screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed building code certification is a strong plus, but not required.
  • Commercial inspection experience is a strong plus, but not required.
  • Additional inspection certifications or specialized inspection experience preferred.
  • Experience with insurance inspections, construction inspections, code-related inspections, or specialty residential inspection services is a plus.
  • Familiarity with inspection software and report-writing platforms is a plus.

Schedule, Travel, and Compensation

This is a Monday through Friday position with a salary base. Statewide travel is required, and occasional overnight stays may be necessary based on project needs.

Company-required inspection tools and equipment will be provided. The employee must maintain a reliable vehicle for travel, and mileage reimbursement will be provided in accordance with company policy.
