Job description

Title: Senior Lead Java Developer
Location: Reading, PA(100% Onsite)
Duration: Long Term
 
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Lead Java Developer to lead the design, development, and implementation of mission-critical enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, cloud-native development, and modern frontend technologies. This individual will provide technical leadership, mentor development teams, and drive the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions in an Agile environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade Java applications.
  • Develop scalable, secure, and resilient Microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs for enterprise integrations.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Lead technical design reviews and establish development best practices.
  • Build responsive user interfaces using Angular (18+), HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Design and optimize data models using MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka and/or RabbitMQ.
  • Develop secure applications using OAuth2, JWT, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Deploy and support applications in AWS cloud environments.
  • Participate in CI/CD automation, code reviews, performance tuning, and production support.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide long-term technical solutions.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers while promoting engineering excellence and coding standards.
  • Work within Agile/Scrum teams to deliver high-quality software on schedule.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor''''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of enterprise Java development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Java (JSE/J2EE), Servlets, and JSP.
  • Extensive experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Microservices architecture.
  • Strong experience developing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with relational databases including MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
  • Hands-on experience with Angular (18+ preferred), HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Experience implementing messaging solutions using Kafka and/or RabbitMQ.
  • Strong understanding of OAuth2, JWT, RBAC, authentication, and authorization.
  • Experience deploying applications on AWS.
  • Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, multithreading, and distributed systems.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with enterprise transportation, logistics, fleet management, or supply chain applications.
  • Experience with containerized Microservices and cloud-native architectures.
  • AWS or Java certifications.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, CloudWatch, or Prometheus.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
  • Experience leading distributed development teams.
