  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Assists practitioner in assigned Urgent Care and/or specialty clinic(s) in performance of procedures, telephone prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient records and relaying test results. Performs delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a physician or mid-level practitioner.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • SamCare Express offers, by appointment, same-day treatment of health problems such as: cold, cough and fever, sore throat and strep throat, bronchitis, sinus infection, bladder and urinary tract infection, pink eye, earache and ear infection, flu vaccination, skin irritation or rash without fever, sports physicals, and other minor illnesses and injuries. We bring convenient and affordable health care to residents and visitors of our communities.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Current Oregon Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)-Intermediate or Paramedic licensure required.
    • Healthcare Provider Level BLS required upon hire.
    • Six (6) months related experience required.
    • Experience in applicable specialty area preferred.
    • Experience and/or training with medical terminology preferred.
    • Lab/EKG experience preferred.
    • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred.

    • Patient Care - Possess the skills and knowledge needed to assist and care for others. Ability to recognize symptoms, drug properties and interactions, treatments, and preventive health-care measures within scope of practice.
    • Adaptability/Flexibility - Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to situations that may arise with high risk or diverse patient populations. Ability to adjust actions in relation to others and adapt to offer best possible care to patients.
    • Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.
    • Team Building - Ability to work, function and communicate on a multi-disciplinary team. Possess the knowledge and skills to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
    • Medical Terminology - Knowledge of medical records, procedures and terminology. Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
