We are looking for a versatile senior level Network engineer that can support a 150+ multi-vendor remote site MPLS and VPN WAN; as well as a 3 tiered Cisco architected data centre.
Description / Daily Duties:
ย ย  ย Maintaining the operational state of a 24/7 365 Global Network
ย ย  ย In depth knowledge of network routing and switching protocol implementations.
ย ย  ย Thorough knowledge of LAN/WAN layer 2/3 Core switch and routing hand-off.
ย ย  ย Design, setup, troubleshoot and configure complex L2 and L3 switching environments
ย ย  ย Design, setup, troubleshoot and configure complex routing protocols.
ย ย  ย Interface with vendors and carriers for installation and troubleshooting
ย ย  ย Work with remote sites to establish and maintain WAN / LAN connectivity at handoff point.
ย ย  ย Identify potential network problems, report outages, suggest corrective actions, apply corrective actions
ย ย  ย Perform periodic preventive maintenance to network components
ย ย  ย Maintaining security posture of LAN/WAN using best practices
ย ย  ย Working independently and without constant supervision
ย ย  ย Troubleshooting network anomalies and malfunctions of network hardware.
ย ย  ย Solid Visio skills to update network diagrams, build new diagrams, etc.
ย ย  ย Responsible for working with and across multiple functional IT areas, including; Mid-range and Wintel, UNIX, SAN, and Application Integration.
Required Skills:
Senior level command line configuration knowledge of a large variety of the Cisco product family to include but not limited to the following: ASA, ASR, ISR, Nexus, and MDS hardware
ย ย  ย Expert level troubleshooting and configuration implementation of protocols including but not limited to BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Spanning-Tree, VPNs, VoIP, VRF, and VSS.
ย ย  ย Ability to evaluate MPLS and VPN network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency;
ย ย  ย Planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of network equipment.
Qualifications
Industry certifications CCNA, CCDA, CCDP required
ย ย  ย CCNP or CCIE preferred
ย ย  ย Network Engineers with additional background skills supporting AD, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi, VoIP, F5 and Firewall technologies are encouraged to apply.
